Tackling Trout was a completely new trout fly fishing school which took place in May, 2008 at The Kenmore Hotel, Perthshire. Instigation came from a number of customers from our Spey Casting Made Easy schools who asked if we would run a similar course for wild trout fly fishing. The school included several sessions on casting, entomology and insect sampling, tactics, fly tying and practical fishing for wild brown trout. Preparing the syllabus and the copious handout notes and diagrams on casting, knots etc took a lot of time and effort but the satisfaction gained from a full complement of happy fly fishermen at the end of the weekend more than compensated for the work involved and we take this opportunity of thanking these folks for coming along and participating. Here are some of the generous comments received from the students:

"Great introduction to fly fishing" - the school catered for fly fishermen of all abilities from beginners to those who had fished for many years and who wished that they had availed themselves of quality tuition some year previously.
